A warm welcome to The Wharf Inn, a traditional public house nestled in the close community of the market town Congleton. We are situated below the Dog Lane aqueduct on Canal Road, a stone’s throw from the idyllic Macclesfield Canal.
We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly traditional pub atmosphere. Our regular customers and lovely staff are always ready to welcome those visiting our picturesque town, including walkers and those using the local Canal routes. We are dog friendly too!
Within our grade ll listed building dating back to the 19th century, you will find a continuously well stocked bar. Keen to uphold the original character of the pub we sell traditional ales and draught lagers, whilst also keeping up with changing styles and tastes with the offer of various continental bottled beers too. We also keep a fully stocked spirit bar, as well as a choice of wines and minerals.
Sport is an important part of the lives of our regular customers, therefore we have a full sports package at The Wharf Inn, showing all BT and Sky sports listings. During warmer months we make the most of our beer garden, with a large outside TV with audio, creating an amazing atmosphere during warmer days.
Keen to stick with tradition and keep British pubs alive, we are a hub in the local community for traditional pub activities. We hold our own Poker league ‘The Wharf Inn Poker League’ on Monday evenings from 8.30pm. We also form an integral part of the ‘Nuts Poker League’ and host poker games for this league on both Thursday and Friday evenings from 8.30pm.
Customers are able to enjoy a game of pool towards the back of the pub, with space to play undisturbed. For the more serious and competitive players, we have our own pool team who compete in the local Congleton Pool league. The Wharf Inn hosts pool league matches on a Wednesday evening.
